Looking for adventure? No place in the world you can't go with this 4x4 Sprinter.
Fully self-supporting, off-grid as long as you want and completely gas-free.
Built to take our family (me, my wife, our 2 daughters aged 4 and 7 + our labrador) everywhere we want. Unlike other bus camper vans, ours is made to comfortably carry your (small) kids without you being crammed in. Without extra passengers, you obviously have even more living space.
Our wishes have changed and so this unique campervan may go to a new owner.
What makes our van special:
- Sleeping/standing roof for 2 people (130cm's wide) - 3 little ones also fit with ease.
- Headroom lowest part about 182cm. With roof up good 2 metres.
- Width mounted bed of 140x197 (flares) hanging from the ceiling until you need it. Up you have a spacious seat for up to 6 people. Down a good bed with custom-made mattress.
- Indoor and outdoor shower. Inside with vapour extraction and made with wonderboard.
- Cooking and heating on diesel (camper has 2 heaters, 1x webasto under rear seat, 1x hob which also has a heater function).
- Bus is fully insulated (anti-thump - armaflex) so heat is not too bad & cold is fine. Good Fiamma roof fan is in there that blows or sucks. With thermostat.
- 4 seats with seatbelts, + space between front seats for big dog or a couple of little ones.
- 6 new Cooper Discoverer AT tyres that get you in and out everywhere. Also suitable for winter in Germany (3 peaks). Noise is negligible despite coarse tread.
- 4x4 drive with 2 locks for when you've put yourself in misery. This Sprinter has permanent 4x4 drive and no reduction gearbox.
- Raised for even more ground clearance.
- Lots of storage space under the seats, in the cupboard and above the cabin. Enough for our family of 4 (3 women on board, so there's not 'just enough' going around...)
- Large Isotherm (85l) fridge with freezer.
- 10l hot water boiler 220/12v.
- Swivel Thetfort WC with cassette.
- 59 litre clean and grey water tanks under the car.
- Solar panel on lifting roof. Large. Battery is quickly full (not measured, but within the hour). Battery also recharges by shore power and driving. Never without power so. Thick inverter in it so 220v also available and just make coffee without complicated tricks. 200Ah Rebelcell Lithium battery. 220v sockets and USB points everywhere.
- Floor of EVA-foam with teak slatted pattern and relief. Easy to clean, 100% waterproof and made for boat decks. Pretty lout-proof.
- 8 LED lights inside.
- Heating and cooking on diesel. 110 litre tank so no need to worry about running out of diesel quickly.
- LED bars for huge beams when driving in a dark forest. Of course - with remote control - can be operated from the cabin. Got another 4 LED spots separately that you can use as reversing lights or work lights.
- Thule 4x2.5-metre pocket awning, can be completely closed off by walls (awning).
- Completely in raptor liner, so no small scratches. Colour 'desert sand' & 'black'. Sufficient spare paint to fix damages yourself with a brush.
- 2x Lago underbody box of which 1 mounted on rear door for tools. 1 loose to decide where to put it.
- Kitchen with plenty of storage space, 2 burners, small sink, tap for hot and cold water, drawers and cupboards with click system open and close.
- 2021 model 10" Sony CarPlay car radio available.
- Garmin reversing camera.
- Bus is about 6.5m long and offers plenty of interior space.
- Everything in the bus is top of the range. Only good stuff, no frills and spaghetti. Battery alone was a good €3000. All electrics Victron.
- Apk until June 23, full history known, June this year new shock absorbers, wheel bearings, tyres, all oils, etc, etc. Last year front to rear new exhaust, relay box, vacuum hose, glow plugs, oil in difs replaced. A good €5500 (preventive) was repaired and replaced last year.
- EXTRA: set (4) of custom Gabo steel rims with zgan Grabbers included, to be fitted instead of dual air. Fit 1 on 1. With tyres they were € 700 each.
- Camper is rust free. Patches treated before the Raptor was fitted. Sills replaced this year. All rock-hard.
- Ex Belgian army. Imported last year, inspected to 3500 kg and put on camper tariff.
- Equipped with tow bar. May tow 2000 kg.
- Motorhome conversion and all the stuff is just a year old. Most boxes still present.
- Camper equipped with Bearlock.
ong and high version. Don't see them very often (never actually) because - according to legend - they were only made for governments and even they often chose the slightly shorter version. Bigger than this they were not made.
Originally was 5 seats (now 4 - front bench replaced for seat). Rear seat easily removed by click system should you not need 4 seats.
Bus can easily be put back on 4.5t registration for those who want to take extra stuff. Now on registration, with installation and half a tank + 70kg for the driver, 3165kg. So 345kg payload. We managed without any problems.
Not insignificantly... bus has a well-functioning (June cleaned and filled) A/C.
The Sprinter has only run 116k (is 21 years old), ridiculously well maintained (just about everything is new) and is a unique bus. On the road, lots of people watch & talk to it. Rugged looks but a sweet character. Our kids love taking the 'jeep' on holiday!
Bus was professionally remapped (ZHT in Boelenslaan / The Netherlands) last month to 152hp and 365Nm.
