A rare opportunity, this is a Bedford MJ 1984 Expedition Vehicle. It is called BOB, The Big Orange Bedford and he is a one off, incredible vehicle. It is a showstopper and has been built to the highest standard, with every detail taken care of. It has been very well maintained. The engine starts first time, every time and the chassis excellent. I have owned it for 18 years and he has never let me down. It is registered in France as a vehicule d'epoque, a vintage French vehicle. Anyone wishing to keep it in France will no not require an MOT for the rest of it’s life. It was originally from the UK so can be easily imported and will attain vintage status in the UK next year. I have owned him for 18 years and he has never let me down. It has been very well maintained and there is a box file with all receipts, with the exception of cash payments. The mileage is VERY low as I have owned it for 18 years and have only pottered around France, Spain and Portugal. Approaching 50,000kms, will go up as still being used. This truck will take you anywhere.

It has a 150 litre water tank. waste water and water gauge, a radiator and underfloor heating, run by a Mikuni preheater diesel engine. There are two 250L diesel tanks, one not currently used. It has an inverter, new solar panels, sand ladders, snow chains, electrical hook up, hose, airline and supply, an lpg portable generator, winch, two spare wheels (need replacing), two new air filters and a cupboard full of other essential spares that may be needed en-route oooh and a gun turret!

The roof has new solar panels and checker plate and there is a fixed ladder for access. Parts are easily and cheaply available, can be shipped all over the world and there are no electrical or computerised goo gogs to go wrong, all straight forward mechanics. Inside there is heaps of storage, a fixed double bed and a guest double, shower room with fold down sink and toilet, and a fully equipped kitchen.

He is extremely well insulated and has a central heating control panel and temperature gauge with a fault finder. The windows have black out blinds and mosquito nets. There are windows over and adjacent to the bed so you can fall asleep gazing at the stars.

CURRENT CONDITION - Maintenance and replacement list:
Full service carried out, including oil and filter changes, brake fluid and greasing.
2nd diesel tank needs welding and is currently closed off.
One spare tyre needs replacing.
Clutch, filters changed regularly and oils, axle and hub gaskets and a cupboard full of spare parts, including wing mirrors. Box file full of receipts for maintenance and contains leaflets on all of the equipment on board.

INSIDE
So inside on the right hand wall is the kitchen with sink, tap Smev cooker with three gas rings and a gas oven and grill and a fridge. Next to this is the shower room with a fold down sink, shower and toilet. Straight ahead is the fixed double bed. Underneath the bed there are two storage cupboards, left and right, a crawl through to the cab and under the crawl through is the 150L water tank. On the left hand side there is a wardrobe and lots of cupboard space leading to the seating area. There is a table that enables the seating area to convert to a double bed. There is storage under which contains spare parts. VIP in Hastings supply Bedford parts all over the World and have supplied BOB for the duration of my ownership of him.

There is a carbon monoxide alarm, a measure for waste and good water, a cupboard fronted by the electrical motherboard which houses the inverter and connections to the batteries and solar panels. The solar panels are new.

The heating is run by the Mikuni pre-heater and is underfloor and there is also a radiator, see pics.
