When I bought this Unimog it had only 4350 mi (7000 km) on the clock. The engine was barely broken in! When I bought this Unimog it had only 4350 mi (7000 km) on the clock. The engine was barely broken in!
The plan was to build an overland vehicle that would fit into a cargo container to be shipped safely anywhere in the world. The construction was quite a challenge and the result is impressive. The camper unit can be mounted and dismounted by one person using an electric winch without many extra tools and so the Unimog + the camper unit fit together in a 40 ft. high cube container as an alternative to RoRo shipping!
An additional advantage is that when you are not traveling for a while, the original cargo bed can easily be remounted and the Unimog serves as a truck. The camper unit becomes a tiny house...
Now my priorities lie elsewhere and I have decided to put it up for sale.
Unimog U1350LM
The U1350 LM was a special order for the Belgian army and is actually a U1550L whose engine power has been reduced to 136 hp, something that can easily be increased again to 215 hp or more.
Some important improvements over a U1300L are the modern cab with improved sound insulation, higher payload, stronger axles, the heavier UG65 transmission and the turbocharged engine with intercooler.
